need help coming up with trial questions?
we're doing a fake trial in civics class, and im the lawyer of the deffendent. the case is:
The State has accused John Summers of robbing Kay's Jewlery Store. Summers has pleaded innocent and claims that his arrest is a mistake.
I have to use the witnesses statements to come up with questions to ask the witnesses. Any ideas?
Wendy Kay's statement: I own Kay's Jewelry Store in Martinville.
I was working alone in the store on wednesday afternoon, Dec 2, when a man walked in. It was exactly 3:30. I noticed the time because i had just put up a new collection of watches from Switz. on display.
I noticed the man because he had a hankercheif over his face. I thot it was off until i also saw the outline of a gun projecting from his pocket. that's when i got scared.
The man ordered me to empty a case of jewels and all the store's cash into a black bag. The robbery only took minutes, and the theif escaped on foot.
Any questions i could ask her???
what was the color of the man's hair. did he have a beard? was he wearing glasses? any noticable markings on his face or hands like a watch, scratch, birthmark, necklace? did he have an accent when he spoke? was he wearing a hat? what was he actually wearing? what were the colors of his clothes? was he wearing a jacket? what makes you so sure it was the defendant in question? which way did the robber flee, left, right?? did he have an accomplice waiting for him at all...if so, was he/she waiting for him in a vehicle? do you have any witnesses to back up your claim that the defendant was actually in your store?
